Yes. 151 open roles accept people living in Kenya: 2 name Kenya among the countries they hire in, and 149 are open worldwide. Roles that do not say where they hire are left off this page, so every role here has stated it is open to you.
Projects pay in US dollars through the platform running them. From Kenya the usual routes are PayPal, which you can withdraw to M-Pesa through Safaricom's M-Pesa PayPal service, Payoneer, and Wise to a Kenyan bank account or M-Pesa. Check which methods a platform pays by before you apply, because some offer only one.
Income from clients abroad is taxable in Kenya. Contractor pay arrives with no tax taken off, so you declare it to KRA yourself in your annual return on iTax, due by 30 June. This is general information, not tax advice.
Of the 151 roles for people in Kenya open now, 142 publish an hourly rate. The median is $70 an hour, half of them pay between $50 and $95, and the highest pays $325. Every role shows its terms before you apply, and applying is free.
Most of these roles are in software, science & research and engineering. Each role names the degree, experience and languages it needs, and with a profile Tier1 checks them against yours.
Not for the roles on this page. They are remote, and you work with the platform running the project, usually as an independent contractor paid on its schedule. Each role states its terms before you apply, and tax on the income is handled where you live.
