Senior Cargo Condition and Securing Surveyor

We are looking for Senior Cargo Condition and Securing Surveyor candidates for a project delivered through the hiring partner.

What you'll do

  • Evaluate refrigerated and temperature-controlled cargo documentation, such as reefer temperature logs and condition records, to assess compliance and identify potential issues.
  • Analyze finished-vehicle and food transport evidence, including damage reports and compliance documents, to determine condition, causation, and potential losses.
  • Perform remote assessments of container integrity, cargo securing methods, and lashing arrangements using photographic and written shipment records.
  • Review hatch-cover inspection reports and related marine cargo documentation to assess sealing, weatherproofing, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Write clear, professional surveyor findings and damage attributions, providing detailed reasoning for each conclusion as would be required in a signed surveyor's report.
  • Deliver structured, written feedback to support the training and evaluation of advanced AI models focused on cargo logistics and compliance.

What you need

  • Apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems.
  • Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input.
  • No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Nice to have

  • At least 7 years of experience as a cargo surveyor specializing in reefer and temperature-controlled shipments, containerized cargo, or cargo securing and lashing practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in reviewing and interpreting photos, inspection logs, damage reports, and compliance documentation for marine or land-based logistics.
  • Background in one or more of the following: reefer and perishables surveying, container and securing surveying, marine hatch-cover inspection, finished-vehicle logistics inspection, or food transport auditing.
  • Strong analytical judgment and a meticulous approach to documentation review and report writing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, well-reasoned explanations for technical findings.
  • Familiarity with international transportation compliance standards and best practices for cargo condition and securing.
  • Previous consulting or remote project participation experience is a plus, though not required.
