We are looking for VFX & Compositing Supervisor candidates for a project delivered through the hiring partner.
What you'll do
- Set the quality bar: Define clear standards and an artifact taxonomy for micro detail, multi-layer integration, physics, previs and concept art, and critique current evaluations.
- Curate benchmarks: Identify, generate and curate strong examples of excellent and genuinely hard VFX, simulation, previs and concept work, and test early model capabilities against them.
- Critique model outputs: Review generated footage frame by frame and write precise, actionable notes on temporal instability, compositing seams, spill, physics and fine detail.
- Shape the reviewer pool and captions: Help define how human reviewers are vetted and calibrated, and review captioning guidelines so VFX, physics and preproduction detail is described accurately.
- Collaborate with other experts to keep evaluations consistent and accurate.
What you need
- 7+ years of professional experience in feature VFX, animation or virtual production.
- Credits on 2+ professional films.
- A background in at least one of: VFX Supervisor, Compositing Supervisor or Lead Nuke or Flame Compositor; FX Technical Director or CG Supervisor (fluids, pyro, cloth, hair); Previs or Postvis Supervisor; or Senior Concept Artist, Matte Painter or Visual Development Artist.
- A meticulous eye for temporal instability, compositing seams, spill, physics and micro detail.
- Hands-on use of generative tools to create concept art, previs and test samples for comparison.
- Ability to engage reliably for approximately 40 hours/week during weekdays.
- Strong written communication and the ability to turn VFX, physics and preproduction detail into precise language for captions and evaluation templates.
Nice to have
- Reliable access to a 4K display for pixel-level review.
